First steps
A first protection from the shop or the selector, then a member, a flag and a name, all from /protections.
Everything below is done by a player with the default permissions. Use an account without operator:
operators hold exyliaprotections.bypass and no protection ever stops them, which makes testing
misleading.
Get some land
Open the hub
/protections (or /ps, /claims). The top shows how many protections you own and your limit —
3 by default. My protections is empty for now.
Buy a core
Protection shop lists every tier with a price: small (21x21, 2500), medium (41x41, 10000)
and large (71x71, 40000). Click one. The price is taken and the core item lands in your inventory.
This needs an economy plugin; without one, give yourself a core from the console with
/protections admin give <player> small.
Place it
Place the core where the middle of your land should be. The land around it is protected — the whole column, from the bottom of the world to the top — and the chat says "Protection <name> created". Its border is drawn for 10 seconds.
The placement is refused, and the core stays in your hand, in world_the_end, over another protection,
closer than 8 blocks to another player's land, or over a WorldGuard region that is not the plugin's own.
See Creating protections.
Select land on the hub gives you a selector, a golden hoe only your client sees. Left-click the first corner, right-click the second, then shift + left-click to confirm. You are asked whether to protect that many blocks for 5 per block of area; confirming charges you and protects the whole column between the corners. A selection needs sides of at least 9 blocks and at most 10000 blocks of area, and has no core block. Drop the selector to cancel.
Manage it
Open your protection
/protections → My protections. Left-click your protection to manage it; right-click teleports
you to its home. The overview shows its name, owner, size and location, and one button per section:
Land, People, Access, and Defense for the audit log. Economy, Growth and
Extras appear once one of their features is switched on.
Add a member
People → Members → Add player, and type the player's name. They must have played on the
network before. Pick a role: member builds, opens containers and uses doors and redstone;
trusted can also add members and set the home. The chat confirms "Added <player> as
<role>".
Change a flag
Back to the overview, Access → Flags. Each flag is one click: turn PvP on, or Visitor entry off to keep everyone who is not a member out. A new protection starts with mob spawning, crop growth, leaf decay, liquid flow and visitor entry on, and PvP, explosions and fire spread off.
Name it
Land → Rename, and type a name of up to 32 characters. It replaces the default "<player>'s land #1" in the list, the titles players see walking in, and the web map.
Stand inside it and run /protections info: it tells you the name, the owner, your role, the size and how
many members it has. That is a working protection.
Where to go next
- People and access — roles, per-player overrides, clans, bans, the lock, greetings and the audit log.
- Menus — every screen, every button and how to restyle them.
- Configuration — the tiers, limits and the feature switches that turn on raids, the bank, upkeep, the market, rent, plots, upgrades, warps and perks.
