Skins
Every key in skins.yml, how a skin is resolved, and the twenty animated skins that ship.
A skin lives in skins.yml under the id the armour will store. Ids are matched trimmed and
lowercased, so Galaxy and galaxy are the same skin.

| Key | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
name | text | Shown on the skin item and in every message that names the skin. Takes palette tokens like {info} and & codes. Blank falls back to the id. |
pieces | list | helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots. Empty means all four. A skin that does not list a piece is refused on it with unsupported-piece. |
color | hex | The leather colour, #0066ff. Empty keeps leather brown. Anything unparseable is reported in the console and treated as empty. |
trim-pattern | key | A trim pattern such as vex or minecraft:vex. |
trim-material | key | A trim material such as diamond. |
icon | material | The material the skin item is made of. Empty uses skin-item.material from config.yml. |
animation | name | A preset from animations.yml, or a bare type (rainbow, pulse, frames). Empty for a still colour. |
effects | section | Sounds, titles and particles: on-equip, on-unequip, the per-piece ambient and the set bonus for wearing every piece the skin fits. See Effects. |
trim-pattern and trim-material are only used together. Writing one without the other logs
a trim needs both trim-pattern and trim-material; ignoring the trim and the skin is drawn with its
colour alone.
How the skin item looks
The skin item is built from skin-item in config.yml — name, lore, glow — with two substitutions:
%skin% is the skin's name and %pieces% is the list of pieces it fits. Its material is the
skin's icon, or skin-item.material when the skin sets none.
The skin's colour and trim are then painted onto that item, which only shows if the material can
carry them: point icon at a leather piece and the item previews the skin exactly. A pottery sherd
or a banner pattern simply keeps its own texture.
The twenty that ship
Every shipped skin animates, and every one of them carries a set bonus: particles around the body while all four pieces match, an action bar line when the set closes and a quieter one when it breaks.

None of them restricts pieces, so every shipped skin fits all four slots.
What happens to a skin you delete
The id stays on the armour. Nothing resolves it any more, so the piece shows its real look again, and
a remover used on it answers unknown-skin rather than turning the skin into nothing. Put the entry
back — same key — and every piece wearing it comes back too.
Reloading
/armorskinsadmin reload re-reads config.yml, animations.yml and skins.yml, drops the cached trims,
rebuilds the lore lines and redraws every online player. File entries are replaced wholesale; skins
another plugin registered through the API survive a reload untouched.
