Configuring

The 3D wardrobe

The wardrobe standing in the world: try skins on your own body, buy and save in place, revert, unequip and open the crate without an inventory window.

The 3D wardrobe is the same wardrobe as the inventory one, drawn in the world in front of the player instead of in a chest. The skins run on an arc at eye level, the pieces being dressed sit above them, and in the middle the player stands on a pedestal wearing what they are trying on. Owning, wearing and buying go through the same code as the inventory wardrobe, so the two screens never disagree about what a player has.

Opening it

HowWhat opens
/wardrobe 3d (alias /armorskins 3d)Always the 3D wardrobe.
/wardrobe classicAlways the inventory wardrobe.
/wardrobeWhichever menu.style in config.yml names: CLASSIC (default) or SPATIAL. The API's openWardrobe, /armorskinsadmin wardrobe open and the armorskin:wardrobe action follow the same setting.
A placed spot/armorskinsadmin spatial place leaves a small clickable hologram where you stand. Clicking it walks the player onto the spot and opens the wardrobe there, facing the way the spot faces. Spots are kept in spatial/spots.yml.
config.yml
menu:
style: SPATIAL # CLASSIC: the inventory menu

Every way in asks for exyliaarmorskin.wardrobe, and with behaviour.mode: item it answers wardrobe-disabled exactly as the inventory wardrobe does.

Older clients get the classic wardrobe

Drawing it needs a 1.21.4 client or newer. A player on an older client who asks for the 3D wardrobe is shown the inventory one instead, with nothing to configure.

Using it

PieceWhat it does
The titleThe skin looked at, else the one being tried, with one quiet line: worn, owned, its price or locked.
The piecesFull set, Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots, as plain words. The one being dressed is underlined.
The arcFour skins either side of the body. The mouse wheel or the arrows turn it a page.
Clicking a skinTries it on the piece being dressed, or on every piece it fits for the full set. The body wears it at once, owned or not; nothing is saved yet.
The bodyClicking it turns it to its side, its back and its front again; the arrows beside it and the wheel over it turn it too.
The primary buttonSAVE wears every piece that was changed. A draft holding a skin the player does not own reads BUY & SAVE with the price, then CONFIRM for the second click that pays.
The iconsClear (the dressed piece, or the full set, back to bare), revert the drafts to what is worn, unequip every skin, the crate, the guided tour again, and leave. Revert and unequip only show while they would do something.

An Unsaved pill sits beside the button while something is tried but not saved. Leaving with changes unsaved drops them, and the player is told so. The first time a player opens the wardrobe a short guided tour points out the skins, the pieces, the button and the icons; the ? icon shows it again.

While it is open the player is held still and sees nobody, and nobody sees them.

Buying follows the shop

BUY & SAVE buys the whole skin at the shop's price, exactly like the inventory wardrobe's buy button, and only for a player holding exyliaarmorskin.buy: without it a locked skin reads locked, never its price. A draft holding a skin nobody sells stops SAVE with save-blocked, naming the skin and the piece. The crate icon needs exyliaarmorskin.crate. See Permissions.

The layout

Where every piece stands is spatial/wardrobe.yml; every word it draws is under spatial in lang/<language>/messages.yml. Coordinates are blocks on a board standing anchor.distance (4.5) in front of the player's eyes.

BlockWhat it sets
anchorHow far ahead the board stands and how high it is lifted, so its lowest piece stays above the floor.
hide-others · freezeHide everybody else, and hold the player still, while it is open. Both true.
themeText sizes, the page arrows, the locked and worn markers.
panelsThe title, the piece words, the primary button, the Unsaved pill, the icon row and the hint line.
previewThe body on its pedestal: its size, turn-speed, facing and turn-controls, the arrows that turn it.
carouselThe arc: how many skins, their spacing and curve.
introThe guided tour's steps.
backdropThe soft dark backdrop behind the board, so it reads on sky and ground alike.

Pieces are moved in game rather than by hand: /armorskinsadmin spatial edit opens the wardrobe for an admin to aim at a piece, click it and move it with the mouse wheel.

Admin commands

CommandWhat it does
spatial placeSets a 3D wardrobe down where you stand, facing the way you face.
spatial removeRemoves the placed wardrobe nearest you, up to four blocks away.
spatial editOpens the wardrobe to move its pieces.

All under /armorskinsadmin, so all need exyliaarmorskin.admin.

The crate has a 3D opening too

crate.opening: SPATIAL plays the crate in the world in front of the player, and the prize is tried on your own body. See The crate.
