Gauntlets
Several events back to back, with points per stage and a champion at the end.
A gauntlet is a series of events played one after another with the same players. Every stage hands out points, and whoever has the most when the last one ends is the champion.
Series are put together from the menus out of events that already exist, kept in the database
(event_gauntlets), and need no file editing at all.
A series needs the event slots and the players, so starting one while another is running is refused with a message.
Building a series
/eventsadmin leads to the gauntlet list: create a series, give it a name and an icon, and add stages
by picking them from the existing configurations. Stages can be reordered and removed without a
reload.
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
id | The key, as you typed it. |
displayName | What the menu shows. Defaults to the id. |
iconMaterial | The icon. Defaults to NETHER_STAR. |
stages | The configuration ids, in play order. |
Every event type works as a stage. A series needs at least two before it can be started.
Starting one
/eventsadmin gauntlet start <series>
/eventsadmin gauntlet stopstart pulls in every online player who is free — not already in an event — and needs at least two of
them. stop cuts the series short along with the stage it is playing.
The series menu has a start button that does the same thing.
The line a player builds
A player with exyliaevents.start can put together their own line from the menu: every click adds one
of the startable events, up to 12 stages, and START runs it. That line is not saved — it
belongs to that run, and the next player builds their own.
The same rules as /events start apply: the start cooldown (unless they have
exyliaevents.cooldown.bypass) and the configured main lobby.
How a run goes
The stage starts
The stage's event is started and the roster is pushed into it.
Forced start
After lobby-seconds the event starts even if its own countdown had not finished. A stage with
fewer than two players is skipped and announced.
Points
When it ends, winners earn points-winner and everybody else who played earns
points-participant. The top three standings are broadcast.
Next
After between-stages-seconds the next stage begins.
Champion
Once the last stage ends, whoever has the most points is crowned — several players on a tie — and
champion-commands run.
Whoever joins a stage's lobby is in the gauntlet from then on, so arriving late to the series does not stop a player scoring in what is left of it.
Configuration
gauntlet:
points-winner: 10
points-participant: 2
lobby-seconds: 20
between-stages-seconds: 8
champion-commands: []| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
points-winner | 10 | Points for winning a stage. |
points-participant | 2 | Points for playing one without winning. |
lobby-seconds | 20 | Lobby seconds before a stage is force-started. |
between-stages-seconds | 8 | The pause between one stage and the next. |
champion-commands | empty | Console commands for the champion. %player% and %series%. |
Each event's normal rewards still pay out per stage. champion-commands is the prize for the whole
series, so that is where the big one goes.
