Getting startedguide

First steps

From a fresh install to fighting a bot, in five minutes.

Two things are typed: one world name in a config file, and /bot. Everything else happens in a menu.

Allow a world

A bot may only exist in a world you have listed. On a fresh install the list holds Exylia's own sandbox worlds, which are not yours, so nothing is allowed yet.

Edit config.yml

Open plugins/ExyliaPracticeBotV3/config.yml and replace the worlds list with your own world names, exactly as the server names the folders.

worlds:
  - pvp_sandbox

Reload

/bot reload with exyliapracticebot.admin. No restart needed.

Stand in that world

Anywhere in it. There is no arena to build and no region to define — the bot appears where you are.

If you skip this

Every spawn is answered with "You can't spawn a bot in this world", from the command and from the menu's spawn button alike. It is the same check in both places.

Spawn a bot and fight it

Open the menu

/bot with exyliapracticebot.use. The main screen is one button per decision.

Pick a mode

The Mode button, top middle. Left-click steps to the next mode, right-click to the previous one. The lore line under it says what that mode fights with. Seven to choose from; POT_PVP is the shipped default. Picking a mode applies that mode's kit as well as its combat model.

Pick a difficulty

The Difficulty button, right beside it. Left-click steps up, right-click steps down. Five rungs from Easy to Extreme; NORMAL is the shipped default. Start there — Insane and Extreme are meant to be walls, not fair fights.

Spawn it

The green Spawn Bot button on the bottom bar, or /bot spawn. The bot appears where you are standing, wearing your skin and your name.

Fight

Hit it. It follows you, fights back, and heals, blocks or trades exactly as its mode and difficulty say it should. Nothing you do to it drops loot or gives experience.

While you are fighting

  • It stops when you do. The bot is removed when you die, when you change world, and when you get further than 200 blocks from it. Each one tells you which it was.
  • It comes back on its own. After it dies it respawns two seconds later by default (respawn.enabled, respawn.delay-seconds).
  • Shift right-click it to reopen the menu without typing anything — only its owner can, and only while interaction.shift-click-opens-menu is on.
  • /bot tpto and /bot tpme close the gap in either direction, and the ender pearl in the menu does the same.
  • /bot remove sends it away. /bot reset puts every setting of yours back to the server default.

Tune it

Everything below mode and difficulty already has a working value. When you want more:

  • The armour column down the left of the main menu: left-click a piece for the next tier, right- click for its enchantment.
  • Main hand, off hand and potions down the right.
  • Fight back turns it into a moving punching bag; Follow you makes it hold its ground.
  • Fine tuning opens the second screen — damage, reach, attack and movement speed, health, totems and the sandbox toggles. Every slider is clamped to the bounds in the config's limits block.

Your settings are yours: they are stored against your UUID and are waiting for you the next time you log in, on this server or on any server sharing the same database.

Where to go next

  • Modes — what each of the seven actually does.
  • Difficulty — what each rung feels like, and the numbers behind it.
  • Equipment — every piece of gear the menu can hand it.
  • Limits — how many bots your server should run at once.
