Introduction

What ExyliaPracticeBot is, what it is not, and how this documentation is organised.

ExyliaPracticeBot is a sandbox PvP training partner. A player runs /bot, picks how it fights and how well it fights, spawns it where they are standing, and fights it. Seven combat modes decide the kit and the techniques; five difficulties decide how cleanly those techniques are executed. Everything else — armour, weapon, off hand, potions, reach, damage, health — is a knob in the same menu.

What a bot is

A bot is a mannequin the plugin spawns and drives, tick by tick, on the server's own entity scheduler. It wears the owner's skin by default and carries their name above its head. It is not an NPC in a registry and it is not part of the world: the mannequin is spawned with persistence off, so a crash or a hard stop can never leave one standing in your map.

One bot per player. The plugin keys every bot by its owner, and it fights its owner and nobody else. Only the owner can open its menu, and only another plugin holding the API can point it at somebody different.

What it is not

This is not a minigame

There are no arenas, no queues, no matchmaking, no ranking and nothing to win. The plugin spawns one bot for one player, wherever that player is standing, and takes it away when they are done. A full practice server — arenas, kits, queues, duels, parties, ELO — is ExyliaPracticeCore, a separate plugin.

The bot is a training dummy that fights back. It is meant to be spawned in a sandbox world, hit for a few minutes, retuned and hit again.

About ExyliaLib

The typed configuration, the declarative YAML menus, the menu actions, the database, the task scheduler and the text and effects pipeline all come from ExyliaLib. The plugin is written on top of it and does not run without it. See Installation.

Modes, difficulty, equipment and the menus. This is where most of the time goes.

Commands, permissions, every configuration key, the developer API and the FAQ.

Conventions

  • Values marked as default are what the plugin writes the first time it starts. If the file already exists, your value is kept.
  • Times are seconds with decimals unless a key says ticks; 20 ticks are one second.
  • Health and damage are given in half-hearts, the same unit the config uses: 20.0 is ten hearts.
  • Colours use ExyliaLib palette tokens ({primary}, {highlight}, {muted}), which resolve to your server's palette rather than to fixed hex values.
