First steps
From an empty server to a clan that owns land: the permission set, the first clan, the bank and the first claim.
Grant the commands first
No player command works without its node. The shortest working setup is a wildcard on the commands
branch:
default:
- exyliaclans.commands.*
admin:
- exyliaclans.admin
- exyliaclans.admin.*If you would rather grant them one by one, Permissions lists all thirty-four.
It is a separate node and it is not covered by exyliaclans.commands.*. Give it to staff only: it
ignores every claim protection check on the server.
Make a clan
/clan create VanguardThe name is checked against three settings: clan-name-min-length (3), clan-name-max-length (16) and
clan-name-regex (^[a-zA-Z0-9_]+$ — letters, digits and underscores). Names are unique, compared
case-insensitively.
The clan is created with the three ranks in default-roles — Leader (weight 100), Officer
(weight 50) and Member (weight 1, the default one new members get). The founder is given the
heaviest rank and is recorded as the leader.
The leader passes every clan-permission check outright, whatever their rank says, and outranks
everybody for the weight comparison. That is why a leader cannot simply /clan leave — they have to
/clan transferleader or /clan disband first.
Fund the bank
/clan deposit 5000The money comes out of the depositing player's own balance and needs the DEPOSIT_BANK rank permission.
The bank is what pays for land, so this comes before the claim.
Claim the land
/clan claimYou are handed a golden hoe. While you hold it:
| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| Left click a block | Set corner 1 |
| Right click a block | Set corner 2 |
| Shift + click in the air | Pay and confirm |
/clan claim again | Cancel the session |
Glass towers with a diamond block on top mark the corners as you set them, and only you can see them.
The price is shown before you confirm: base-price (500) plus price-per-block (1.0) for every block
of X × Z. A 20 × 20 rectangle is 400 blocks, so 500 + 400 = 900.
The rectangle is refused if it is smaller than min-area (25), larger than max-area (10 000),
overlaps another clan's claim, comes within min-separation (5) blocks of one, overlaps a WorldGuard
region, or costs more than the bank holds.
A clan owns exactly one claim. To change its shape, use /clan reclaim, which lets you redraw it
inside the existing bounds. To move it, /clan unclaim and claim again — and note that unclaiming
also clears the clan home.
Set the home
/clan sethomeWhile the claims module is on, this only works standing inside your own claim. The home then shows up as a client-side waypoint for every member — and for allies, as long as the alliance lasts.
/clan home teleports there after a five-second warmup that is cancelled by moving or by taking damage.
Fill the ranks
Open /clan and go to Roles. From there a clan with MANAGE_ROLES can create ranks, rename them,
set their weight, choose which one is the default, and tick permissions one at a time.
Weight is the whole hierarchy: a member can only kick, ban, promote or demote somebody whose weight is strictly below their own, and can only set a rank's weight below their own.
Recruit
Two menus, in opposite directions:
/lfp— your clan posts what it is looking for, and reads the applications it receives./lfc— a player with no clan posts what they play, and clans browse the list and invite them.
See Recruitment.
What to tune before opening
| Setting | Why |
|---|---|
claims.protection-mode | Ships as WORLDGUARD. Wrong for a server without WorldGuard. |
claims.base-price / price-per-block | Land price against your economy, not against the defaults. |
dtr.death-loss / regen-* | How long a raid window stays open. |
settings.max-members | 30 by default, before level bonuses. |
relational-placeholders.label-* | The shipped labels are MIEMBRO and NADA. |
settings.chat.quick-*-prefixes | . and @ swallow the start of a normal chat line. |
