Kill streaks

The streak ladder, its announcements, its commands, and the break message.

Streaks live in two files: the general settings in config.yml and the ladder in killstreaks.yml.

General settings

config.yml
kill-streaks:
  enabled: true
  reset-on-death: true
  break-min-streak: 3
  break-message: "<#b9a5cc>%killer% ended %player%'s <gradient:#ff4d4d:#ffd700>%streak% kill streak</gradient><#b9a5cc>!</#b9a5cc>"
KeyDefaultWhat it does
enabledtrueWhether streaks are tracked and announced at all.
reset-on-deathtrueWhether dying returns the streak to zero.
break-min-streak3The shortest streak whose ending is worth announcing.
break-messagesee aboveThe break announcement. Accepts %killer%, %player% and %streak%.

The ladder

killstreaks.yml is a list of rungs. Each fires when the player reaches exactly that number of kills.

killstreaks.yml
streaks:
  - streak: 3
    enabled: true
    broadcast: true
    message: "<#ff7a7a>%player%</#ff7a7a> <#b9a5cc>is heating up with</#b9a5cc> <gradient:#ff4d4d:#ff9a9a>3 kills</gradient><#b9a5cc>.</#b9a5cc>"
    commands: []
  - streak: 5
    enabled: true
    broadcast: true
    message: "..."
    commands:
      - "give %player% diamond 1"
KeyDefaultWhat it does
streak—The kill count that fires the rung. Required, and greater than zero.
enabledtrueDisables the rung without deleting it.
broadcasttruetrue announces server-wide, false only to the player.
messageemptyThe announcement. %player% is the player on the streak.
commandsemptyCommands the console runs when it is reached. %player% is substituted.

The ladder sorts itself from lowest to highest, so the order in the file does not matter. A malformed rung is skipped and reported in the console: you lose that rung, not the whole ladder.

Nine rungs ship by default: 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35 and 50.

Why this is a separate file

The rest of config.yml is a fixed set of keys with known types. A ladder is a list of blocks of free length, so it lives in its own file. If you come from an older version where it sat in kill-streaks.streaks, the migration moves it on the first boot.

Checking a streak

/ffa streak shows the player's current streak. With the exyliaffa.commands.streak.others permission, /ffa streak <player> shows someone else's.

The value is also available as a placeholder:

%exyliaffa_current_streak%

Streak rewards

The commands of each rung are run by the console, so any command of any plugin works:

commands:
  - "eco give %player% 500"
  - "broadcast &e%player% &7is on 10 kills"
  - "lp user %player% permission settemp exyliaffa.kit.premium true 10m"
Consejo

For rewards on individual kills rather than streaks, use kill-commands in config.yml. See Configuration.

Per-player settings

A player can silence their own streak notifications, or the global announcements of other people's streaks, from /ffa settings, with no effect on anyone else.
