Configuring

Spawns

Several spawn points per arena, with name, icon, permission and priority.

An arena can have as many spawns as you like. With one, players always appear there. With several, a selector opens on entry and on respawn.

Fields

FieldDefaultWhat it does
idgeneratedInternal identifier.
arenaId—The arena it belongs to.
displayName—Name in the selector. Accepts colours.
permissionemptyPermission required to choose it.
iconMaterialCOMPASSIcon in the menu.
location—The exact location, taken from where you stood when creating it.
priority0Order in the menu.

When the selector shows

The spawn selector comes before the kit one, and only if the arena has more than one spawn. The full sequence on entry is:

/ffa join <arena>
├── more than one spawn? → spawn selector
├── kitMode SELECTABLE and more than one kit? → kit selector
   └── join

Common uses

Map zones

One spawn per region of the map lets players pick where to drop. Works very well in large arenas where the centre gets crowded.

Premium spawns

A permission-gated spawn, in an advantageous position or simply a more comfortable one, as a rank reward.

Tactical respawn

With several spawns spread out, dying does not mean always returning to the same place and being camped there.

Spawns must sit inside the region

A spawn outside the arena bounds makes the player appear "outside" and be returned immediately. Always place spawns inside the marked region.

Protection

Spawn protection is not configured per spawn but on the arena: a radius, a shape and a mode applied to all of that arena's spawns. See Arenas · Spawn protection.

Waypoints

If the player has the waypoints setting on, each spawn of the arena is drawn as a marker on their client. It is switched off per player from /ffa settings, with no effect on anyone else.
