Player settings
The ten switches each player controls from /ffa settings.
Every player decides what they see. Settings are stored in the database and survive reconnects and restarts.
They are opened with /ffa settings.
The settings
| Setting | Internal key | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Scoreboard | scoreboard | Shows or hides the in-arena sidebar. |
| Spawn waypoints | waypoints | Client markers over each spawn of the arena. |
| Combat bar | combat_bar | The combat tag countdown above the hotbar. |
| Link bar | linked_bar | The bar with your 1v1 opponent: name, hearts, ping and time. |
| Combat messages | combat_msgs | The notices for entering and leaving combat. |
| Streak notifications | ks_notifs | Notices about your own streak. |
| Streak broadcasts | ks_broadcasts | Announcements of everyone else's streaks. |
| Kill broadcasts | kd_broadcasts | Other players' kill and death messages. |
| Opponent glow | glow | The outline on the player you are linked with. |
| Spectator hint | spec_hint | The action bar hint in spectator mode. |
All start switched on, except the scoreboard, which starts according to scoreboards.yml.
A globally disabled setting cannot be switched on
If an admin disables the sidebar in scoreboards.yml, the player's scoreboard setting stops having
any effect: the global decision wins. The menu reflects that rather than letting someone switch on
something that will not appear.
It is the difference between "the player has it off" and "the server does not offer it". Without that distinction, a player could enable an option and conclude the plugin is broken because nothing happens.
Spawn waypoints
With the setting on, every spawn of the arena is drawn as a red marker on the player's client. The markers belong to this plugin: they neither overwrite nor delete the ones your lobby plugin draws, and they come down when leaving the arena or when ExyliaFFA disables.
A spawn with no assigned location draws nothing.
Opponent glow
When the 1v1 link is active in the arena and the player has glow on, the opponent is outlined. It
is sent by packets through packetevents, which means:
- It uses no scoreboard teams, so it does not clash with your rank plugin's prefixes.
- Only the linked player sees it, not the whole server.
- It disappears the moment the link expires.
Customising the menu
The menu is a YAML file like the rest: menus/user/settings.yml, with its Spanish translation in
menus/user/es/settings.yml. You can change icons, slots, texts and sounds without touching code.
If you add or move items, keep the action keys each button already carries: they are what tie the button to the setting it toggles.
