Frequently asked questions
The questions that come up most.
Is ExyliaMines free?
Yes. It is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 licence. Download it from the GitHub releases; the source is in the same repository.
I used the mines of ExyliaSurvivalCore. What do I do?
Update ExyliaSurvivalCore, or turn its mines module off, install ExyliaMines next to it and start the
server once. The mines, the blocks they were regrowing, their settings and messages and every player's
mining history come over on their own, once. exyliasurvivalcore.mines.admin keeps working, and
/minesadmin keeps its name. Through PlaceholderAPI, %exyliasurvivalcore_mine_…% becomes
%exyliamines_mine_…%. See Migration.
The plugin does not start
packetevents is a hard dependency: without it the server never loads the plugin. ExyliaLib is installed
for you when it is missing — the plugin downloads it, asks for a restart and disables itself until then. If
an ExyliaLib.jar is already in plugins/ and still did not load, the console says so: fix the errors
ExyliaLib printed above it. See Installation.
A classic mine never refills
It needs three things: to be enabled, a region, and at least one block in its composition. Then two reasons it can still wait: nobody is near it — a refill falling due while the mine's chunks are unloaded is held until they load — or a refill is already running. Resets → Force reset says whether the region or the composition is missing.
A realistic mine does nothing when I break its blocks
Its blocks are exactly the materials added as levels; nothing else in the area is the mine's. A block of another material is left to the server — or refused, with restrict breaking on. Add the material as a level. See Realistic mines.
"This mine has no entry point"
The mine has no entry teleport. For a classic mine, set it in Teleports → Entry teleport. A realistic mine has no teleports section in the editor, so it cannot be given one there; send players with a warp of your own.
Players can't break anything in a mine
The mine names a permission they do not have — General → Access permission. Without it nothing in the area can be broken and they are told "You don't have access to this mine.". Grant the node or clear the permission.
WorldGuard denies building there. Do I need a flag for the mine?
No. The mine performs its own breaks and never forces a cancelled break through, so the region can deny building as it likes: mining still works, and nothing but the mine's own blocks can be broken. See Area and shapes.
Mined blocks give nothing
The material has a loot table, and a loot table replaces the vanilla drop entirely, even on a roll where
none of its lines came up. Each line is its own chance in percent; add a line at 100 for whatever should
always drop. See Loot and effects.
Fortune does nothing on my custom loot
fortune.mode in config.yml decides it, and so may the mine's own Fortune setting: OFF turns it off
for custom loot, and a highest level of 0 turns Fortune off altogether in that mine. target: ITEMS, the
default, leaves money alone. See Fortune.
My placeholders show up unresolved
Through PlaceholderAPI the plugin's name goes in front: %exyliamines_mine_reset_coal%. Inside Exylia
plugins' own files it does not: %mine_reset_coal%. A mine id is part of the name, so check the spelling
of the id too. See Placeholders.
The leaderboard is behind
It is read back from the database once a minute, and the counts are written every five seconds. A player's own numbers move with every block; the top ten moves in steps.
A boost from the schedule never started
Check the console after /minesadmin reload: a time that is not HH:mm or a day that is not MONDAY to
SUNDAY is named there. Times follow ExyliaLib's timezone, not the machine's, and min-players skips a
start while fewer players are online. The boost of the entry has to be an id under boosts.
Can several servers share the mines?
They can share one database, and each server then runs its own mines: a mine belongs to the server it was created on, and ids are unique across all of them. See Integrations.
Does it work on Folia?
Yes, it declares Folia support. Every block change runs on the thread that owns the block, and the API events are called on the region thread of the block they are about.
Where do I get support?
On the Exylia Discord. Bugs and contributions are also welcome on GitHub.
