First steps
A classic mine and a realistic mine built from the editor, and a player sent to one.
Everything below happens in menus. The only things typed are the mine's id and the occasional number.
A first classic mine
Open the editor
/minesadmin with exyliamines.admin. It opens the list of this server's mines, empty for now.
Create it
Click Create classic mine and type an id in chat, such as coal. Ids are lowercase letters,
digits, _ and -, up to 64 characters, and an id any server on the same database already uses is
refused. The mine is created enabled, named after its id, and its setup screen opens.
Select the area
Area → Mine region. You get ExyliaLib's selection wand: mark the two opposite corners of the box and confirm. The blocks between them, both corners included, are the mine.
Say what it is made of
Back on the setup screen, Block composition → Add block and pick a block. Each entry starts
with a weight of 10; left- and right-click raise and lower it by one. Add stone, coal ore and iron
ore, and give stone the largest weight.
Fill it
Resets → Force reset. The area fills from the composition over a few ticks. From now on it refills on its own every five minutes, the default interval.
Give it an entry point
Teleports → Entry teleport, then stand where players should arrive and confirm.
Any player with the default permissions can now run /mine coal, or open /mines and click it.
Create from template on the list offers ready mixes from templates.yml: coal, iron, gold, diamond,
nether and a realistic "natural ores". The new mine arrives with its name, icon and composition already
set, so only the area and the teleports are left. See Mines.
A first realistic mine
A realistic mine never fills its area. It watches the blocks that are already there and grows each one back after it is broken, so it suits a natural cave or a hand-built ore wall.
Create it
Create realistic mine on the list, and an id such as cave.
Select the area
Area → Mine region, around blocks that already stand in the world.
Add a level per block that should grow back
Regen levels → Add level, and pick a block, for instance IRON_ORE. It starts with a
regeneration time of 60 seconds. Only the materials added as levels are the mine's; anything else
inside the area is left alone.
Optionally, a degrade chain
Open the level, Degrade chain → Add stage: a delay, then a block. With STONE then
COBBLESTONE, a broken iron ore turns to stone, the player mines the stone, it turns to cobblestone,
they mine that too, and the ore comes back when its 60 seconds are up.
Break an iron ore inside the area: it disappears, and comes back on its own. See Realistic mines.
Where to go next
- Mines — the setup screens, every switch, cloning, templates and deleting.
- Classic mines — intervals, warnings, thresholds and players inside.
- Loot and effects — make a block pay something other than its vanilla drop.
