First steps
A first crate in a few minutes: create it, give it rewards, place it with the wand, get a key and open it.
This page builds one crate, vote, from nothing. Every step happens in game, as an operator.
Create the crate
Run /cratesadmin. The Crates screen lists every crate; click Create crate and type vote as
its id. Ids are lowercase letters, numbers, - and _, at most 64 characters, and they never change.
The crate is created with the display name VOTE, an ender chest icon, the Wheel of Fortune animation,
one reward per key, and a cost of one vote key — a key with the same id is created with it when
there is none. Its overview screen opens.
Give it rewards
Open Rewards, then click Rewards again to open the editor. Add a few: an item from your hand, a command, money, experience. Each one has a weight: shift + left-click raises it, shift + right-click lowers it, and every row shows its real share as you go. Save.
The share also decides the rarity. With the default tiers.yml, a reward that is 1% of the crate or
less is legendary, up to 5% epic, up to 20% rare, and anything more common. Give the
common rewards a heavy weight — 50, 100 — and the prize a light one until its row reads the rarity you
want. See Rewards and rarities.
Place it
Open Presence and click Crate wand. Right-click any block with the wand: that block is now the
vote crate, with a hologram and the crate's icon turning over it. Left-click with the wand removes it.
One crate can stand on as many blocks as you like.
Get a key
For yourself: /cratesadmin key give <your name> vote 3 hands you three key items. To test without the
command, Keys on the crate list → vote → Get keys.
For a store or a vote listener that has to reach offline players, use the balance instead:
/cratesadmin key virtual <player> vote 1. See Keys and costs.
Open it
Left-click the block to see the contents and the odds. Right-click it to open one key; sneak and right-click to open as many as you hold, up to ten at once. Click during the animation to play it four times quicker.
On the crate's overview, Opening → Preview plays the crate's animation in front of you without a key, without paying anything and without writing history. Animation lists all eleven; right-click one there to preview it before choosing it.
What to do next
- Charge money too, or a second key, from Opening cost. See Keys and costs.
- Promise a legendary after 50 openings from Rewards → Guarantee. See Rewards and rarities.
- Make the opening private so several players can open the same block at once. See Openings.
- Show players how many keys they hold on a scoreboard with
%exyliacrates_crate_keys_vote%. See Placeholders.
