Getting started

First steps

A first hologram and a first NPC, from the screens and from commands, and where to go next.

Everything below needs exyliadisplays.admin (or exyliadisplays.holograms and exyliadisplays.npcs), which operators have by default.

A hologram

Create it

Stand where you want it and run /holoadmin create spawn, or open /holoadmin and click CREATE HOLOGRAM. The window asks for a name and a preset; the hologram appears 2 blocks above your feet, facing you, and its editor opens.

Write its lines

Click LINES. Left-click a line to change its text, right-click it for size, motion and who sees it, shift-click to move it up or down, press F to duplicate it and Q to remove it. EDIT ALL AT ONCE edits every line in one box.

Place it

LOCATION: left-click for exact coordinates and rotation, right-click to move it to you, shift-left to centre it on its block, shift-right to turn it to face you. FINE ADJUST moves it with the mouse wheel; see Fine adjust.

Make it clickable (optional)

CLICK ACTIONS, one line each, such as right: [SERVER] survival. See Interactions.

An NPC

Create it

/npcadmin create guide Notch, or open /npcadmin and click CREATE NPC. The window asks for a name, a preset (a guide that greets you, a server portal, a shopkeeper, a mirror) and a skin. It stands where you stand and faces you.

Dress it

APPEARANCE for skin, pose, size and outline; EQUIPMENT to put the item in your hand in a slot.

Name it

LABEL for the lines above its head (every hologram line tag works there), or right-click it to link a whole hologram that follows the NPC.

Give it something to do

INTERACTIONS: the click lines, a permission and a cooldown.

Without a skin, /npcadmin create dresses the NPC in your own skin; write @none for the default skin or @mirror for each viewer's own.

Or write the file

Open plugins/ExyliaDisplays/holograms.yml, add an entry and save. It appears within a second, and every player with exyliadisplays.holograms is told it was applied:
