Introduction
What ExyliaJourney is, the problem it solves for new players, what it ships and how this documentation is organised.
ExyliaJourney turns the first minutes on a server into a guided journey. Instead of a wall of chat text and
a /help nobody reads, a new player is shown where to go and what to do, one step at a time: a panel floats
ahead of their eyes with the current step and its progress, a beam of light stands over the place they need
to reach, footprints on the ground lead the way, and the NPC they have to talk to glows for them alone.
Every step reacts to what the player actually does — breaking a block, crafting a pickaxe, typing a
command, clicking an NPC — and moves on by itself.
It is a premium plugin, installed through a licence loader. See Installation.
The problem it solves
Most players who leave a server for good do it in their first session, and most of them leave because they did not understand what to do next. A journey answers that question at every moment, in the world rather than in chat, and measures the answer: the funnel shows how many players reach each step, how many get through it, and which step loses the most of them. That is the step to fix.
What a journey can be
- Onboarding that starts on the first join: find the spawn fountain, talk to the guide, craft a pickaxe, claim a kit.
- Tutorials for one feature, started by walking into a region, clicking an NPC or running a command.
- Quest chains, where completing one journey starts the next.
- Feature discovery hooked into other Exylia plugins: open a crate, join a clan, mine in a mine, queue a Practice match. See Integrations.
Cinematics
A journey can open a step with a cinematic: the camera flies through keyframes recorded in game, with real subtitles and a speaker's name, letterbox bars, fades and sounds, for the viewer alone. Players far from the scene are moved to it and put back exactly where they stood. See Cinematics.
