Selling to the server

Selling and worth

Selling to the server with /sell, the sell window and /sell all, where the price comes from, the worth list, the sell bonus and boosters, the worth line under items, /worth and the price audit.

Two modules sell items back to the server. Sell owns /sell and its window, and draws what each item is worth under it. Worth owns worth.yml, a price per material for items the shop does not buy. Sell wands and autosell sell through the same path; see Sell wands.

Files modules/sell/config.yml and modules/worth/worth.yml.

Where a price comes from

  1. The shop. If a shop product sells that item back, its price is the one paid, and its limits and permission apply. When several products buy it, the oldest enabled one decides.
  2. The worth list. Otherwise, the item's material in worth.yml.

The shop always wins, even when the player cannot use that product: without its permission the item does not sell at all, and once its sell limit is used up the rest comes back unsold. The worth list does not take over.

/sell

CommandWhat it does
/sellOpens the sell window.
/sell handSells the stack in your main hand.
/sell allSells everything sellable in your inventory: the 27 storage slots, plus the hotbar when sell-all-scope is ALL (the default).

All three need exyliamarket.shop.sell. /sell all asks first when it would pay at least confirm-sell-all-above of the default currency (5,000 by default, -1 never asks).

The sell window

Drop items into the top five rows like a chest. The bottom row holds:

ButtonWhat it does
Add sellableMoves every sellable stack from your inventory into the window, following sell-all-scope.
CancelHands everything back.
TotalWhat it all comes to, per currency, bonuses included, and how many items will come back unsold. Updated on every click and every second.
ConfirmSells.

Items that do not sell, and leftovers below a product's stack, come back to your inventory, the rest to /collect. Closing the window with ESC — or quitting, dying, being kicked, a shutdown — sells what is in it while sell-on-close is on, as it is by default; turned off, all of those hand everything back and only Confirm sells.

Shulker boxes and bundles

A filled shulker box or bundle sells what it carries, boxes inside boxes included, and comes back with the rest still inside; the box itself is never sold. This works for /sell hand, /sell all, the window and sell wands. Autosell leaves boxes alone: a box a player breaks is their storage, not a drop. What stays inside is packed to the front of the box.

Sell bonus

exyliamarket.shop.sell.<multiplier> multiplies everything a player sells to the server: shop products, worth items, wands and autosell. The number is a plain multiplier, not a percentage:

NodePays
exyliamarket.shop.sell.1.25×1.25
exyliamarket.shop.sell.2×2

The highest one held wins; anything below 1 does nothing. plugin.yml lists the pattern in a comment; each number is its own node, so none is declared.

ExyliaLib boosters stack on top: shop-sell for shop products and worth-sell for worth items, each per currency. A worth item's price after bonus, booster and wand is still held below what the shop charges for the same item and below what crafting it from shop items costs.

The worth list

modules/worth/worth.yml
DIAMOND: 50
IRON_INGOT: 6
EMERALD: "40:gems"

One line per material: a price per single item, or "price:currency" for a currency other than the default. The material is matched in any case. Only plain items sell this way — no custom name, lore, custom model or plugin data, no filled container. Enchantments, damage and potion type are not checked: an enchanted tool sells at its material's price.

The file is written once, when it does not exist, from the plugin's value table minus every material the default shop already buys back. After that it is yours and never overwritten.

Edit it in game:

  • /setworth <price> [material] prices the item in hand or a named material. 0 removes it.
  • /marketadmin → Worth opens the worth editor: add from a material picker, edit, remove, find any item. Nothing changes until it is saved.

Both keep a line's currency; the currency itself is only changed in the file. Both need exyliamarket.worth.admin.

/worth

CommandWhat it says
/worthWhat the stack in your hand sells for, each and in total.
/worth <material>One plain item of it, and a full stack.
/worth inventoryEverything you carry that sells, added up per currency.
/worth menuEvery price, browsable.
/worth history [material]The 7-day price chart of what players paid each other.

Each answer is followed by what players paid for it on the market when there are enough sales. /worth shows base prices, without the sell bonus or boosters, and does not check limits or permissions, so /worth inventory may differ from what /sell all pays.

The worth menu lists every material that sells, with its price each and per stack, who buys it — the shop or the worth list — its category and its market price. The category button steps through categories.shown in config.yml (left forward, right back), the search matches the name or the material, and a row opens its price chart.

The line under items

With lore.enabled, every item that sells shows what it sells for, in inventories and containers. It is drawn on packets only: the item itself never carries the line. It shows base prices, and is not shown in creative.

  • lore.menus draws it on items in plugin menus too; off by default, except in the sell window.
  • Under a filled shulker box or bundle it shows what the contents sell for, at any depth.
  • Each player can hide it for themselves in /settings under Worth under items.

The price audit

/selladmin (or /selladmin audit) checks every price that could print money:

FindingLevel
An item sells for at least what the shop charges for it.Error
A recipe's result sells for more than its ingredients cost in the shop.Error
A recipe's result sells for more than its ingredients sell for.Warning
The shop and worth.yml price the same material differently (the shop's price is paid).Warning
A worth.yml line that is not an item, has no positive price, or names an unknown currency.Error

It reads crafting, smelting and stonecutter recipes, the cheapest choice of each ingredient. It runs ten seconds after start and every half hour; the console hears only a change. A player with exyliamarket.sell.admin is told on join while problems remain.

In game, /selladmin and the Price audit card of /marketadmin open a screen of every finding, errors first. Click one for its details, with a button that opens the shop product or the worth list where it is fixed; Check again runs the audit at once. From the console, the findings are printed as lines.
