Configuring

The 3D wardrobe

The trim menu standing in the world: try a pattern and a material on yourself, on any armor, then buy and save in place.

The 3D wardrobe is the trim menu drawn in the world, in front of the player. They stand in the middle wearing what they are trying on, the options sit in an arc around them, and everything — trying, buying, saving — happens without an inventory window.

It writes the same choices the classic menu writes, follows the same ownership, shop and price rules, and needs a mode that uses the menu (menu or both).

Opening it

WayDetail
/armortrim wardrobeAlways the wardrobe, whatever menu-style says.
/armortrimThe wardrobe when behaviour.menu-style is spatial; the classic menu when it is classic, the default.
A placed wardrobeClicking its hologram walks the player onto the spot and opens it there. See Placed wardrobes.
config.yml
behaviour:
menu-style: spatial # classic or spatial
WhoWhat opens
A client older than 1.21.4The classic menu: it cannot draw the wardrobe.
A player without exyliaarmortrims.wardrobeThe classic menu from /armortrim; feature-locked from /armortrim wardrobe and from a placed wardrobe.
Anybody with mode: itemNothing: menu-disabled.

What is on it

From top to bottom:

PieceWhat it does
The stepsPattern, then Material. The arc shows the open step's options; the mouse wheel steps through them.
The cardThe option looked at, or the one the piece is trying: its name, and one line — worn, owned, its price, or locked.
The piece selectorHelmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots or All, which trims every piece at once.
The armor selectorYour own armor, or Leather, Copper (1.21.9 servers), Chainmail, Iron, Golden, Diamond or Netherite. Only the preview changes; nothing is saved.
The arcFour options either side of the body, with arrows and a page counter. Locked ones carry a 🔒, the worn one a ✔.
The previewThe player, wearing what is being tried on, on a pedestal. Clicking the body, or the arrows beside it, turns it to the side and the back.
The hintWhat a click would do right now.
SAVEThe one primary button, with a pill beside it while something waits to be saved.
The iconsClear this piece, revert, take every trim off, open the crate, help and leave. Each shows only while it can do something, and its words show under the one looked at.

Trying on and saving

Choosing a pattern or a material only tries it on: the body wears it at once, owned or not. Nothing is kept until SAVE.

Pick the piece

One piece, or All.

Pick a pattern, then a material

Locked options can be tried on too: the card says how they are had.

Save

SAVE writes every drafted piece. When the draft holds halves the player does not own yet, the button reads BUY & SAVE with their total: the first click asks, CONFIRM pays, unlocks them and saves. A half that is not for sale makes it LOCKED instead.

IconWhat it does
Clear this pieceDrafts the piece being edited bare.
RevertDrops every change and moves the pattern and material markers back to what the piece wears.
UnequipTakes every trim off at once.
CrateOpens the crate, with the keys the player holds. Needs exyliaarmortrims.crate.
HelpShows the guided tour again.
LeaveCloses the wardrobe. Sneaking does the same.

Leaving with changes unsaved discards them, and says so in chat. Buying needs exyliaarmortrims.buy and the shop; without either, a half the player does not own can be tried on but not saved.

The guided tour

The first time a player opens the wardrobe, a short tour points at the arc, the preview, SAVE and the icons. The help icon shows it again, and an admin can make it show on a player's next open:

/armortrimsadmin wardrobe tour <player>

Placed wardrobes

A wardrobe can stand at a fixed spot — a lobby, a shop — with a small clickable hologram in front of it. Clicking the hologram walks the player onto the spot and opens the wardrobe there, facing the way it was placed.

/armortrimsadmin wardrobe place # where you stand, facing the way you face
/armortrimsadmin wardrobe remove # the one nearest you, up to four blocks away

Spots are written to spatial/spots.yml.

Layout and words

Where every piece stands is spatial/wardrobe.yml: positions on a board in front of the player, in blocks, plus the arc, the preview and the tour. Rather than editing numbers, move the pieces in game:

/armortrimsadmin wardrobe edit

It opens the wardrobe with nothing clickable but its pieces; click one, then the mouse wheel moves it and the change is saved to the file.

Every word the wardrobe draws is in lang/<language>/messages.yml under wardrobe, and the centre stage's own words under wardrobe.stage: steps, card lines, hints, the SAVE labels, the icons, the armor names and the tour.
