Kits
Procedural kits: slots, variants, amounts, enchantment ranges, tiers and minimum kit levels; roles; building kits in game; rarities, weights and bad luck protection; the starter kits.
A kit is a list of slots. On every life each slot rolls whether it appears, then one of its variants by weight, with an amount and enchantment levels picked from ranges. Every life is a different kit of the same family.
Kits live in the database and are edited in game, in the web editor
or with /rkadmin kit .... All of it needs exyliarandomkits.admin.
What a kit holds
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Id | Lowercase letters, digits, - and _, up to 32. |
| Name | What players read in titles, menus and messages. |
| Rarity | One of the ids of rarities.yml. |
| Weight | Its chance against the other kits of its rarity. 0 never rolls it. |
| Permission | When set, only players with it can roll the kit. |
| Icon | The item it is shown with in menus. |
| Effects | Potion effects worn while the kit lives, as NAME|LEVEL|SECONDS. |
| Enabled | Disabled kits are never rolled. |
| Slots | What it may hold. |
Slots
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Role | Where it goes. HELMET, CHESTPLATE, LEGGINGS, BOOTS and OFFHAND always take their own slot; every other role (WEAPON, BOW, PEARLS, POTIONS, FOOD, BLOCKS, ARROWS, UTILITY, or any name you write) is placed by the player's layout. |
| Saved position | The inventory slot it was saved from: where it goes when the player's layout says nothing about its role. |
| Chance | Percent chance the slot appears at all; 100 always. |
| Variants | What it may hold, rolled by weight. |
Variants
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Item | An ExyliaLib item source: a material, or the whole item as it was saved (name, lore, enchantments, potion). |
| Weight | Its chance against the slot's other variants. |
| Amount | A fixed amount or a range, picked on every roll. |
| Enchantments | Extra enchantments rolled on top, as sharpness:1-3 (a level between the two) or unbreaking:2. A level of 0 leaves it off, so protection:0-1 is a coin flip. |
| Tier | How much better than the slot's plain variants it is. Kit upgrades give higher tiers more weight. 0, the default, is a plain variant. |
| Min kit level | The kit level a player needs before it can roll at all; 0 for everyone. When a player qualifies for no variant of a slot, every variant can roll. |
Building kits in game
/rkadmin → Kits lists every kit with its rarity. From there:
- Create from inventory asks for an id and saves what you carry, one slot per item.
- Import starter kits adds the bundled kits whose ids are free.
- Import from a plugin opens the import screen. See Importing kits.
Saving from an inventory makes every item one slot with one variant, its role inferred: by the slot it was
in for armour and the offhand, then by what it is (a sword, axe, trident or mace is WEAPON; a bow or
crossbow BOW; arrows ARROWS; pearls PEARLS; potions POTIONS; food FOOD; blocks BLOCKS; anything
else UTILITY). A second item of the same role becomes WEAPON_2, and so on. /rkadmin kit save <id> [rarity] does the same from the command line; saving over an existing id keeps its name, weight,
permission, effects and enabled state and replaces its slots.
The kit screen
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status | Enables or disables the kit. |
| Display name, Icon | What players read and see. |
| Rarity | Left-click the next rarity, right-click the previous one. |
| Weight | Its weight, and its chance within its rarity. Setting it restarts the kit's balance numbers. |
| Permission | Left-click sets it, right-click lets everyone roll it. |
| Effects | The potion effects worn while the kit lives. |
| Slots | Every slot. Hold an item and Add it as a new slot; open a slot to edit its Role, Saved position, Chance and Variants. In a variant: Item, Weight, Amount, Enchantments, and Tier (left-click) and minimum kit level (right-click). |
| Replace from inventory | Every slot becomes what you carry now, after a confirmation. |
| Test kit | Gives you this kit now; you must be in an arena. |
| Delete kit | Removes it for good, after a confirmation. |
From the command line: /rkadmin kit name <id> <name>, kit rarity <id> <rarity>, kit weight <id> <weight>, kit permission <id> <permission|none> and kit delete <id>. Slots and variants are edited in the
screen or the web editor.
Rarities
rarities.yml lists the rarities from the most common to the rarest. A rarity's position is its rank:
"rarer" in missions, perks and bad luck protection means further down the list.
| Rarity | Display | Weight | Announce |
|---|---|---|---|
common | {letters_black}&lCOMMON | 60 | SELF |
rare | {info}&lRARE | 25 | SELF |
epic | {accent}&lEPIC | 10 | ARENA |
legendary | {highlight}&lLEGENDARY | 4 | SERVER |
mythic | {primary}&lMYTHIC | 1 | SERVER |
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
id | What kits, pity rules and events refer to it by. |
display | How it is written in messages and titles. |
weight | Its chance in the first half of a roll. A rarity with no kit a player may get is skipped, its weight shared among the others. |
announce | NONE, SELF (the title only), ARENA (also told to the arena) or SERVER (to everyone). |
feedback | ExyliaLib sequence lines played for the player who rolled it (sounds, rings, beams, fireworks); %kit% and %rarity% are filled in. |
/rkadmin → Rarities shows each rarity's weight, its share of a roll, how many kits it has and how it is
announced. Rarities are edited in rarities.yml and applied with /rkadmin reload (or the web editor).
Every roll also runs the on-roll-<rarity> trigger, such as on-roll-legendary.
Bad luck protection
roll.pity in config.yml maps a rarity id to a number of rolls: after that many rolls in a row below the
rarity, the next roll is at least that rarity. By default 10 for epic and 40 for legendary; 0 turns a
rule off. The luck upgrade makes those thresholds shrink. See
Progression.
The starter kits
Ten balanced kits ship inside the jar. /rkadmin setup or Import starter kits adds them; they are not read
otherwise, and once imported they are edited like any other kit.
| Kit | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Warrior | common |
| Archer | common |
| Tank | common |
| Assassin | rare |
| Alchemist | rare |
| Pyro | rare |
| Ranger | epic |
| Knight | epic |
| Berserker | legendary |
| Void Walker | mythic |
The Warrior, for example: an iron or chainmail helmet, chestplate (iron with protection:0-1) and leggings,
iron boots, an iron sword with sharpness:0-1 or an iron axe, 8 to 16 cooked beef, a 50% chance of one or two
golden apples, and 16 to 32 cobblestone.
